Contestant Guidelines:
All entries must pay a non-refundable $10.00 registration fee.
All entries must bring at least 10 quarts of pre-prepared chili.
All entries must provide their own vessel/warming method & serving spoon (multiple recommended).
All entries must have at least one representative at your booth at all times.
All entries must sign the health and safety agreement and inform all representatives of their booth.
All entries must register their booth by 9:30 AM on November 11th, 2023 at the Harrison Building (122 Church Street, Ripley, WV 25271), and have their booth set up by 11:30 AM for a meeting with all entries. Entries should arrive no earlier than 8:50 AM. When the contest begins, you'll prepare 6 samples of your Chili, which will be passed off for adjudication. In the first round, three samples will be adjudicated. The top scores in each category will move on to another round of adjudication with the final three samples. The top scoring chili will be named "Ripley's Best Chili".
We will provide signage to advertise your participation in the event, signage at the event to promote your business affiliation if applicable, one table covering, gloves, spoons, 2 oz. containers for samples, and one electric hook-up. We'll deck out your station with a container to collect "People's Choice" votes, but highly encourage team shirts, a hat (if you don't like a hair net), a lawn chair for comfort. If you wish to include marketing materials (beyond business card) or other merchandise, you must pay a $25.00 vendor fee.
